Anastasiia Khibovska
Anastasiia began working in the bee lab during her sophomore year in order to fulfill her internship requirement for Life Sciences Scholars program. What started as a summer internship grew into a bigger quest of contributing to saving bee population. In her opinion, honeybees are critical to America’s food supply and the colony collapse disorder should be taken very seriously. Anastasiia mostly helps with varroa, nosema and tropilalaep sample processing with the BIP Team and plans to work with Bee Informed Partnership until her graduation from the University of Maryland.
Currently in her junior year, Anastasiia pursues her double degree in neurobiology and physiology, and psychology with dreams of becoming a psychiatrist. She is also very involved with Terp Thon at the University of Maryland which is a student organization that works year-round to raise money and awareness for Children’s National Health System in Washington, D.C.
